Daily Driver Projects STARTING AT $13,000+
Daily Driver Paint and Body- Often confused with the "scuff and shoot" process is a very practical cost friendly paint approach offered by City Classic Cars.
Scuff Shoot Paint Vs. Daily Driver Paint
In Scuff and Shoot, A fine grade Scotch Brite pad is used for scuffing baked-on paint finishes. The pads leave behind a rough finish that works well for fresh new coats from your paint system to adhere to effectively. The problem is no rust is addressed nor or dents and dings not to mention the lack of straight panels.
A daily driver project is one driven in the public square so an involved detailed show finish would be destroyed in short order. Therefore, some clients opts for the daily driver cost effective paint finish. Sabra does not scuff n shoot as he will never paint over a rusted car. Sabra will never paint a daily driver project that does not have a healthy substrate. Sabra will never paint a project with major dents and dings. In a daily driver paint job by City Classic Cars, Sabra removes basic accessories, DA the car with professional sand paper, does basic body work and at least 1 block before painting. and all cars at City Classic Cars receives cutt and buffing services. Starts on the other side of $10, 000 for trucks and larger 4 door projects. This is recommended for lower value special interest projects, and "flipping" projects. Few projects truly qualify as true scuff and shoots as most have dents, some level or rust and many mounds of hidden bondo, but the reality is every car and budget deserves to have a body experience. Many projects start in this phase and advance to the Rehab and Rust Treatment Paint and Body experience.
Show Quality Paint Vs. Good Daily Driver Paint
Show cars are rarely driven on open highways and often travel to the show in an enclosed trailer. Conversely, the Daily Driver build is driven almost daily as commuter vehicle or regularly on weekends and rarely enters a show. With all that stated, daily driver paint jobs at City Classic Cars use the same high quality ppg products and Sabra's attention to greatness.
